About Us

Hello and Welcome! I'm Dan Jones president of Northwest Equipment Sales, a division of Northwest Equipment Manufacturing, Inc. Like you, I am an automotive service professional. I opened my first service facility in 1983.

Northwest Equipment Manufacturing, Inc. manufactures and sells undercar automotive repair equipment. We also refurbish and sell vintage computers, either complete computers or parts, specializing in 486's.

As automotive service technicians, shop owners, and managers I think you'll appreciate working with an equipment sales company that understands your needs and your business from your side of the counter. In fact, we have an alignment shop on premises.

Who is Cartek and What Happened to Bear?

Cartek has been a large international distributor for Bear since the 1980's. In the 90's they started producing the software updates for SPX / BEAR and then through an agreement with SPX in 1998 were licensed to produce all new Bear equipment through CartekEngineering and manufacturing. Since that time Cartek has designed and manufactured the SML and the MBA series of aligners. They also sold and distributed the Robotic aligner as well as high quality tire changers, wheel balancers, and lifts under the Bear / Cartek label. In July of 2009 Cartek dropped the Bear label and will from this point forward continue business as normal under the Cartek product label. Northwest Equipment Sales will continue to service discontinued Bear equipment.
